Wedding Planning – Help?

I am from India and my man is American. We got married in India earlier this year and plan to have a Catholic wedding here in US for freidns and family here.
I want to have something in our wedding that symbolizes both our cultures. Most of our family and friends here are not-Indian – But they are all awed by the color and deisgns and stlyes we have in india.
I was planning on wearing a white gown (typical) fo rthe wedding. The wedding is at a church followed by a late-eveningreception. My husbnad and groomsmen will wear a tuxedo. Will it be appropriate to the bridesmaid to wear a Sarree??? I was thinking about having the same color and style sarees for all the bridesmaid. Apart from the 5 bridesmaid I plan to have at the wedding, my mother will also be in a saree.
Do you guys think that will look good? Please give your honest opinion. All the beidesmaid I have, two are Indians (so they wont have problem wearing saree and being comfy in it) and three are Americans (but they love sarees, have never worn them before -but they like the colors and have seen many Indian movies etc. so I am sure they will be excited about the idea.)
