How long do you wait to renew wedding vows?

My husband and I have been married for 3 years. We want to renew our wedding vows, but can’t figure out an appropriate year to do it. Is 5 years of being married too early to renew vows?
My wedding was rushed a little. My husband had gotten word that he was going to Iraq. The original date for the wedding was July 4, 2005, but was bumped up to December 20,2003. I had 3 weeks to plan! Not all my family and his family could make it on such short notice. It would be nice to renew our vows. I appreciate all answers.
