Any suggestions on wedding band/ engagement rings soldered together for engagement?

My boyfriend and I picked out a bridal set prior to getting engaged. We decided that the rings looked better together, so we had them soldered together prior to getting engaged. I know this is not tradition, but are there any rules/ suggestions about how to wear the ring. Wedding band one side vs. the other? Any comments? Thanks in advance.
